You'll return to the Locanda as long as it exists. The photos speak for themselves. On January 1st we went to eat pizza by the beach of Sant Feliu de Guixols. Francesco and Anna, the owners, treat us with love and recommend a pizza with spicy sausage and Moretti Doppio Malto beer - cracking! Highly recommended at any time of year.
The Café del Museo is on the ground floor at the back and is super friendly. I could spend entire afternoons here. There are several areas, including a pair of courtyards with tables, a couple of dining rooms and the bar itself, with a good deal of liquor. The decor is amazing, old posters relating to toys, the lighting and the dragon that was in the Park of Terror Barcelona make the place special.
Just walk in the door you notice that the food is home cooked by the chef, the rices are fantastic and the fideuá is deadly. Our starters were toast with anchovies and mussels (not as good as the Galician dish) fideuá for seconds with garlic mayonnaise, accompanied by a white Catalan wine, Canals & Nubiola, you can choose white or pink and it was in an ice bucket, since it was July and it is always better cold. The whole family works in the restaurant, they are friendly and polite, the owner does not let you choose, so you better you like his suggestions, but he is always right! The price was quite economical 18 euros/person for fideuá, mussels, toast with anchovies, wine and dessert.
It is unusual when camping to recommend a restaurant, as many only offer typical tourist dishes, but I must say that Cocina de Fina, which is the name of the restaurant's cook, goes a step further and offers creative recipes based on seasonal produce from the garden, sea and mountains, with a touch of home cooking.
Walking down Calle Mayor with my son I found a restaurant, El Casa Buxó, with a good noon menu. The 16 € menu allowed us to choose between 4 starters, 4 seconds, various desserts accompanied by bread, wine and water. We opted for fish soup, cannelloni with mushrooms, grilled squid and chocolate cake. The dishes are hearty, it is family-orientated and the decor is very traditional.
