If you've seen the movie Forrest Gump, you can not miss going to eat at this American franchise but with a shrimp twist. If you haven´t seen the movie, you should go eat there anyways, because it is worth it, although it won´t be the same. Oh, and the movie is awesome. The restaurant is cool, too. It has a great atmosphere and the food is original. The service is also great.
The Knife is a good steakhouse in Bayside with all-you-can-eat menus that includes water, a bottle of wine, dessert, and access to a large buffet of appetizers, pasta, vegetables and excellent grilled meats, all at a fair price of $25.75 for lunch on Saturday (it costs less during the week). The restaurant is located on the second floor of the main building of the Bayside Marketplace, just across from the Hard Rock Café. The view of the bay is very beautiful and even the air conditioning is kept at a human level .. definitely recommended!
If you're near Ocean Drive and don't feel like eating in places that are too fancy, a good alternative is to eat at this hamburger chain. Johny Rockets has locations across the country and they have a certain charm for typical American decoration. In addition, the burgers are great, I recommend it.
Diner is open 24 hours and one of the unique things is that they serve breakfast all day. Although it might not make sense in Spanish culture, but if I tell you "brunch" perhaps you'll understand it better, because in recent years this has become fashionable. Brunch can include typical breakfast items (eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, toast, etc..) but outside of typical breakfast hours.
You should not miss the scrambled eggs and their pancakes (similar to a crepe but thicker). I highly recommend the banana or strawberries pancakes. They are real good! Of course, they also have other dishes that include meat, fish and vegetables. The food is very good and has a homemade quality, but at an affordable price. Additionally, recommend the salad with walnuts and cheese if you're dieting, and if you do not mind calories, the "eggs Florentine" (which despite its Italian name is very popular in the U.S.). Be sure to have a cocktail, a house specialty.
As for its peculiar structure and decoration, is a real restaurant from the 1940s, when it was built in New Jersey. In the 1990s, it was bought and moved to South Beach. Its interior decor is the typical American style we see in the movies, so it feels as if you were in one. Within the latin area of Miami, this is your best bet if you want to feel like you are in the United States. It really authentic inside and out. The best day to go: The Sunday brunch typical day for locals.
This is a restaurant in the center of Brickell on number 778 of the city's most famous street: Miami Dantawn. It is fantastic and it has great service but they serve you in English. There is a good quality for price, 75 dollars a person with a chocolate dessert that will make you cry. I recommend it. I will show you some photos of the night I went.
You might think that a place like Miami will be all tropical fruit juices, but make no mistake: there are also very cold days (about 15 degrees). Those days what you need is a good hot chocolate. Although chocolate is very common, Ghirardelli (originally from California and a division of Swiss Lindt chocolate) has been in the U.S. for more than a century. They definitely make the best chocolate in Miami. Located in the heart of South Beach, it is a local favorite. Aside from the hot chocolate, I also advise the mousse and pralines that include a few shocking flavors (such as squash, yummy).
Nestled at one end of the huge Florida Mall, M&M's World is one of the local curiosities and not to be missed. There are only three stores developed by the brand, and this one of them. Here you can find hundreds of products. In the center of the store, to our delight, is a M&M's bar where you can make your own personalised selection from different kinds of M & M's: peanut, dark chocolate peanut, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, coconut, butter ... in short, a paradise for chocolate lovers! There are 22 flavors available here, so you're sure to find one that suits you!
When I first went to the United States I was afraid that I would only eat junk food but it was not the case. Luckily I found the wagon, and during our twelve days in Miami my father and I went there many times. It is undeniable that Miami is Cuba and therefore could say gastronomically too. The first visit was to the one on Bird RD (Calle 40 and Avenida 86). Sandwiches, delicious milkshakes ... After spending a day at the airport It was great. Coffee is one of the best things at La Carreta, I love Cuban coffee. Afterwards, we went there for lunch a few days ate for $ 15 with drink and tip. One thing that surprised me is that when you order something they bring A DISH (a nice dish) and two dessert plates with the two Conduits (cassava, potato chips, etc ...) They also deliver. It's a shame I don't have photos, but I really recommend it.
Very typical but interesting to see. No longer an American restaurant of the Hard Rock type, but it's well put together, especially the decor. Situated in Downtown Disney, next to the area of Cirque du Soleil, close to the majority of Disney hotels. In the street, even before going upstairs, there is the typical souvenir shop, but not the only one, because you have just entered and there is another where they sell shirts and merchandise of all kinds. The restaurant is inside a giant globe. It has, as I recall, 3 floors and many tables. In my case I didn´t have to to wait, but they told me that sometimes there are huge lines of people. It is open from 11 am to 1 am, so to avoid "jamming" it is best to go at times that Americans do not eat, as from 3 to have lunch or 11 for dinner. And being inside is crazy, you spend the entire meal staring at the walls and ceiling. All themed around the movies, ranging from the typical costumes of actors and airplanes hanging from the ceiling or buses. There is everything. sometimes there are performances, and the service is fast, the food is very good and the price is good. I think the burgers were about $ 11 or so and are big. The salads were also big, are about 13 or so. Maybe the worst is the excessive noise, as the music is high, and some servers are too friendly (everything is for their tips ...). It also has a small bar open until 2 in the morning to have a cocktail or something quick to snack. But hey, it is a place you can go once and you will not be disappointed. Of course, I can not say how or what the service when crowded.
The Bubba Gump, in City Walk in Universal Studios and the Island of Adventures in Orlando, Florida, is a restaurant themed on the world of Forrest Gump. Inside you can find artifacts used during the filming of the movie, pictures, posters, and even place mats that show scenes from Forrest racing around America. One interesting thing is that every table has a red license plate with the words STOP FORREST STOP which you can use to attract the waiters' attention, and a green RUN FORREST RUN to signal that everything is ok. Of course, the menu is all based on shrimp ... fried, boiled, raw, in soup, in buckets ... everything that Bubba promised Forrest before he died.
At the junction between Collins Avenue and Spanish Way is one of the most famous restaurants in Miami Beach. It is open 24 hours and has an absolutely stunning menu. You spend hours deciding what you want ... There is American food with some Mexican, Italian ... But, hey, it's recommended. Very nice, like most things in Miami, but okay.
If there's one chain that I go back to time and again it's Red Lobster. The food is pretty good and the price is always reasonable. And it's not just lobster either...you can also get fish, prawns, and crab.
You can't leave Miami without trying the meat at Cafe Charlotte. This Italo-Argentinean restaurant in the heart of Miami Beach serves amazingly tender Argentinian beef for only $8.00. Don't be fooled by the extraordinarily ugly exterior, the place is great. It is located on Washington Avenue between 15th and 16th.
There's nothing not to like about Juvia: the kitchen, the atmosphere, the decor, the clientele, the music, the sights, even the sea breeze blowing past you as you enjoy a panoramic view of Miami Beach. All I can say is that if you're in Miami beach, make a point to visit this restaurant and cocktail bar, one of the most chic in the area. Juvia comes with signature dishes because everyone from the chefs to the sommelier are well-known in Florida.
The chef Sunny Oh has created a delightful Asian fusion menu and the desserts at the hands of Gourreau Gregory are a revelation for the palate. The decor is the most impressive I've seen in a restaurant in South Beach. Based on the colors purple, green and white - very art deco - the interior incorporates a number of distinct elements including an agate bar lit from within and an impressive terrace with a hanging garden of tropical plants and orchids cascading down the walls to the trickle of running water.
The view is definitely the highlight: you have a panoramic view of the skyline all the way from the beach to the bay. Dinner is around $50.00 - $60.00 for two courses, dessert, and drinks, a price I found more than acceptable given the nature of the restaurant. The cocktails are made with top-shelf liquor and run for about $14-16.00, a bargain given the atmosphere and views.
This Peruvian restaurant is simple and unpretentious. The food is especially good. We ate chili chicken (tasty, very slightly spicy) and ceviche mixto (which, as always, was much better fish, seafood pieces were of normal quality). Portions were very generous (we came home with leftovers), so no need to ask for appetizers and we had no room for dessert. You can get cheap American beer ( about$ 3.5) and service included already added to the bill (18%!). It worked out to about $40.00 for two people in Miami beach, not too bad. By the way, they have another branch in Miami, at 7971 SW 40th Street.
Super Juicer is a one-stop shop for relief from the sweltering Miami heat. Located on the ground floor of the beautiful and pleasant Bayside Marketplace, Super Juicer serves freshly-prepared smoothies which are not only healthy, but tasty too! The service is warm and friendly. It's a good place to get your vitamins!
Nexxt Cafe is a super-charming restaurant with a really big menu and delicious desserts! I ordered a salad but it was so big that I didn't have to eat for the rest of the day! They have Happy Hour every day from 4-7:00pm where drinks at 50% off. They also serve brunch on Sundays between 10:00am and 2:00pm.
