So, I'm Italian (from Italy) and I'm a bit used to being disappointed by supposedly-Italian restaurants I find abroad. When I was in Miami, I saw Yes Pasta! and its "100% Italian" sign so I figured I would take a chance and try it out. As the name suggests, pasta is the focus here and you can choose from a while variety of pasta like spaghetti, penne, linguine, or tagliatelle and one of 15 basic sauce which range from home-style tomato sauce to a mushrooms and truffle sauce of a sauce made with shrimp and asparagus. I can say from experience that when I closed my eyes and took a bite it felt like I was in Italy. There is more to the menu than just pasta, though. They also serve a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and desserts, all very Italian and served with fresh ingredients imported from Italy. The colorful atmosphere is reminiscent of the Mediterranean islands and the service was friendly and efficient. Finally, prices are significantly lower than the average for the city.
Houston's is a chain of steakhouses and this one stand out not only for the food, but also for the views of the intracoastal waterway and Lake Maule. I recommend the spinach and artichoke dip, the baby back ribs with BBQ sauce and classic mojito.
