Restaurants in Duluth
Armando's Caribe
(2)
In general, the restaurants situated in this area are American style, or Mexican Fast Food joints. Armando's Caribe caught my attention, and after the gastronomic hotel prices online, we decided to give it a try. When we arrived they served us nachos to nibble at. We chose a paella to share and I must confess it was really good, the prawns and octopus added a special touch. The atmosphere, despite the murals, is not particularly dazzling, and although convenient, everything is without frills. Excellent service. Credit cards are accepted.

Chipotle Mexican Grill
(1)
Finding mexican restaurants worldwide is relatively easy, and the United States is no exception. In Atlanta area where there is a large population of Mexican immigrants, people are used to eating nachos, burritos, tacos and spicy jalepeños. Chipotle offers a more contemporary atmosphere and they all of their food right in front of you. You can choose from bowls, tacos, salads or burritos and then add any kind of meat, sauce, and vegetables. The service is super fast. It´s a no frills place to get great mexican food.

Red Lobster

Despite being a restaurant that I always saw as a child, I went for the first time a couple of week ago because my boss was happy we won a case in court. The prices aren't unreasonable, as this place has lovely food and all the dishes, unless told otherwise, include lobster tails. I opted for a bowl of noodles which included shrimp, lobster and mussels. It was great and I even had to ask them for a box so I could enjoy it as dinner the next day. My son, ordered a mixed plate that included squid, lobster, shrimp, crab, octopus and rice. My boss's children ordered a plate that included meat. To share, we ordered some nachos with a crab dip, delicious! This is a nice place with a good atmosphere.

Applebee's
(1)
The first Applebees I went to about 5 years ago was on a trip to Lexington, Kentucky, and since then, when I am in the US I know I will find American food at an excellent price, good service and a friendly environment. Usually I ask for the bbq pork ribs because it is my favorite dish, but now I go for the half portion because the dishes are huge and I could not manage to get to dessert. The place is decorated in wood, with a central bar, tables in Hard Rock Cafe style but not only music, but other topics like sports and events, red crystal chandeliers and manys TVs that show different programs. They show whether, news, documentary, a sporting event or drawings. It's a place to go with friends, there are people, ensuring that quality is there. Prices per dish are about 20 dollars, no tickets to shar giant tex-mex, salads and specialty meats. Credit cards are accepted.

Bahama Breeze Island Grille
(1)
This restaurant is a unique find in Atlanta as it is true Caribbean style. The first Bahama Breeze I went to was that of Miami, and was more like a happy hour with some tapas. In Duluth, near the axis of the avenue Pleasante, the Bahama Breeze Hill is in the area northeast of Atlanta. The Caribbean architecture, all wood, open, palm trees and the uniform of the waiters transported to another environment. The food with Caribbean flair is okay, some signature dishes and a wide selection of seafood, steaks and chicken. It is worth going to for the live music and friendly atmosphere.

La Madeleine

I was excited to find this little cafe bistro in Duluth, in the shopping district of Avenue Pleasant Hill northeast of Atlanta. Although it is self service, they bring the dishes to your table. The place is known for its soups, especially the french onion and the cream of tomato. There are sandwiches, sweet and savory crepes, salads and a wide range of breads and pastas. The warm and friendly place has wooden tables, wooden chairs and a cozy fireplace in the middle of the dining room. It also has a terrace area. It´s a nice place to eat at any time of day as there´s a breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack menu.

Suno

This place looks good and tastes bad ... This is not a place for someone who is looking for a creamy tasty ice cream ... This is more of an flavored ice based dessert and you can totally taste the 90% less calories ... The ice creams are huge at a nice $6.50 each and I couldn't even eat 1/4 of it ... Super disappointed and feel soo ripped off! Would do anything for brewsters , stone cold creamery, carvel, baskin Robbins etc ....

Steak 'n Shake
Steak n Shakes is a small local chain of restaurants that specialize in hamburgers and milkshakes. They create a 1940's setting of America. The restaurant is decorated red, white and black, the waiters wear uniforms and the bar opens into the kitchen. Here you'll find a family atmosphere and fast food at reasonable prices. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs (frankfurters) and the philly steak sandwich (roast beef sandwich), a variety of shakes that are part of the hook of the place. They have a happy hour for children, Monday through Thursday after the school, thus making it a fun place to have a snack. I often go to the one which is located in Duluth on Pleasant Hill Avenue. Kids receive crayons with which to draw on the menu, a piece of paper and a cardboard model of a car at the time, to enjoy. Its not as light as fast food, but with great service and seating to comfortably accommodate customers.

Joe's Crab Shack
(1)
We have visited Joe's Crab Shack on several occasions, and although the prices are very high there is no question of going frequently as every time we eat very well and receive tremendous attention. We first visited out of curiosity as my mother saw TV program where fishermen embarked on endless trips to catch fish and crabs. The last time we visited was to celebrate my son's 9th birthday! The dishes are usually served in metal buckets and crab comes in the net in which it was cooked. You can order it steamed or with any ingredient such as garlic and hot or barbecue sauce (which gives the crab a special flavor). Mixed dishes can be ordered such as alaska crab, shrimp and lobster tails, all served with potatoes and corn. You eat with your hands! There is another bucket where you discard the shells and there are towels on the table, as well as tongs and other instrument to remove the meat from the crab properly. There are other dishes like burgers, nachos with crab sauce, salads and soups. The decor is sailor-style and is very informal and fun. The birthday celebration included several waiters singing happy birthday and at the end a good dessert. The place has a space for private parties and a large parking area.

Honey Pig
(1)
I must confess that yesterday I took part in a very special culinary class. We ended up going to a Korean restaurant, the Honey Pig, with the idea of eating Asian American, which as you know generally consists of rice and noodles. However, this particular restaurant was luxury in a way that we could never have even dreamed. If you love trying new things, then you must try this restaurant. First you sit down and can call the waiter through a ring on the table. We ordered 2 dishes, one pork, one prawn ... a branch of spicy cabbage cut into pieces the go directly on the grill, along with bean sprouts, mushrooms and a tray of assorted sauces. Also a cold soup which was a watery gazpacho. Later in Japanese grill plan, prawns and pork are put on the grill and you're in charge, so you learn something new every day. In the end, you mix leftover vegetables with white rice and bring another soup to finish. It was an interesting experience that must be repeated.
