Restaurants in Dallas
La Madeleine
La Madeleine is a chain restaurant with several locations throughout the Dallas area. They serve French style food, and have their own bakery in each store. The decor is reminiscent of a traditional French restaurant with warm color tones, and stone and wood structuring. The restaurant has a main menu, but some items are not available in every store. Not to worry, as you are sure to find something delicious no matter when or where you visit. Locals enjoy La Madeleine mostly for their breakfast menu. Croque monsieur, quiche, and of course the ever delicious French croissant are just some of the many options available. Breakfast is served all day long. Save room for desert! The bakery presents an array of delicious treats. My personal favorite are the chocolate croissants. It is a rather large croissant filled with rich chunks of chocolate. Their cookies are delectable and while we were visiting they had samples available featuring their seasonal lemon cookie. The prices can add up quick, so watch for seasonal or sale items to stretch your dollar.

Velvet Taco
Velvet Taco is located in the Knox Henderson neighborhood. It is an up-and-coming area that has become popular for young adults and college kids, and known for high-quality food! Once a popular area to shop for furniture, this neighborhood has become a great place to gather with friends and enjoy a sunny afternoon. Velvet Taco has plenty of outdoor seating and misters that will keep you cool as you enjoy your tacos! Pork, chicken, beef, seafood, and even vegetarian tacos are available in a variety of pairings with taco filings. The menu is on the wall as you walk in. Select your tacos; two is a good meal, three will be filling especially if you get sides. Ask the staff about which tacos have more heat if that's your desire. There is also a hot sauce they offer you can always add on. Once you place your order, find a seat until they call your name. Don't be afraid to share the long tables with other customers! Many of the tacos and sides come with an egg. I found it to be a little different, but delicious! They are an expanding restaurant that will soon be open in other cities including Chicago.
