This is one of the main centres of the country. It has a great infrastructure, like hotels, casinos, cabanas, natural hot springs, etc. The mountainous landscape and native Andes flora are beautiful. It has lots of tracks and rope bridges. It's a very nice atmosphere in winter when it's filled with national and international tourists.
Atacalco is an Andean town near the city of Chillan and Termas de Chillan. The river Polcura passes through it with its very pure water for sport fishing or swimming in a unique natural environment! This area also offers agritourism in Fundo Las Bravas and Fundo los Cipreces, both of which are embedded in the National Reserve Conaf, part of the "paths of Chile" that unites the country through the mountains that cross multiple regions.
National and even global fame is something Quinchamali has for its crafts in clay that through a cooking procedure makes a very characteristic materiality of this place and has a warm color, original figures of the town that has been created by myths, celebrities and the famous guitarist, the 3-legged pig, toads, cookware etc. A lovely place and close to the towns of Concepcion and Chillan.
We undertook an adventure to the Devil's Throat summit in the Chilean Alps with my college course, this is located in the beautiful Andes .. It was a walk which took us about 5 hours to reach the goal after we left the bus, until we reached the climber refuge called the Devil Throat, which is in a very poor state. With basic conditions without equipment, it is just a roof, a fireplace and a few things to give us refuge. The path is tiring but once at the summit you can enjoy landscapes never seen before .. Lots of snow, mountains and views that enchant. It was a nice experience .. Very tiring but satisfying as it is not easily reach these areas.
In the valley, towards the hot springs squeak, one can find these natural thermal pools. The entrance fee is 6,000 pesos and there are 3 swimming pools. The first level is very hot water. Highly recommended.
