In the Mid-Pyrenees is Saint-Lary, a small town known for its ski slope with the same name. Since it's a tourist area there are plenty of entertainment options around the area and one of the most requested are the Thermal Baths of Saint-Lary, famous for their healing power especially for respiratory diseases. In addition the number of walking routes that can be done through the Pyrenees National Park is another of the attractions of the village. Saint-Lary is a typical Pyrenean village with stone houses and slate roofs to withstand low winter temperatures and the weight of snow on their roofs. The streets, restaurants, shops and landmark buildings are the perfect to lose yourself wandering.
Saint-Lary in the Pyrenees, is a great resort for skiing. To get there from the Cantabrian coast it is best to take the A64 from San Sebastian toward Toulouse. Saint-Lary has about 100 km of slopes with 53 tracks for all levels of downhill skiing and snowboarding. The resort has restaurants, cafeterias, daycare, ski schools etc. If you are not an expert skier I would recommend the experience a piste like this until you have more control, firstly because you'll enjoy it more and secondly because it is 100km from the nearest airport and you could break something. It always pays to have insurance with your pass, in 2010 the price for adults at this resort was 56 euros.
