We arrived in Fussen with the intention of seeing its wonderful castles, namely Neuschwanstein, which is one of the seven wonders of the world and was an inspiration for Disney. A bus took us almost to the bottom edge and you could see both structures. We bought tickets for the castle, but because there are specific entry, we walked up to Hohenschwangau castle. There are many ways to see the castle like by foot or by horse and carriage. I recommend going by foot so you can enjoy the scenery! I went in winter and honestly, the views were wonderful, everything was covered in snow. It's worth going into Neuschwanstein. The inside is really spectacular. It's colourful and in perfect condition. Loved it!
Many travelers go through Füssen only intending to visit Neuschwanstein, the main attraction, but this city deserves a walk through the old town to see the wonderful façade of the castle, among other things. There are illusionist paintings that recreate balconies, windows that do not exist, shields ... Today it is an art gallery and entrance costs 3 € (I didn't enter, I know how it is on the inside). The exterior itself is a work of art.
Arriving at Marienbruck bridge after crossing the forest we were greeted with the wonderful view of Neuschwanstein Castle. It is an experience I will not forget. I encourage everyone to visit Bavaria and walk through the woods up to the castle.
