Ciudad del Este is a city across the Rio Parana in the state of Alto Parana, Paraguay. Part of The TBA formed by the cities of Foz do Iguaçu and Puerto Iguazu. It's the 3rd most important cluster of Duty Free Shops in the world after Miami and Hong Kong, and is famous for its cheap electronics shops. This town is connected by the International Friendship Bridge on the River Paraná.
This city is not especially pretty, but I found it interesting to visit for a few days. The downtown streets are authentic markets, full of people selling everything and there is chaotic traffic, while I was there I didn´t see any tourist ...
This place is beautiful and the water is is hard to forget, it is crystal clear and very clean! An excellent place to go on vacation. The place is the cradle of dreams and, of course, is a place for romantics like me who just need to find the right girl.
This was a summer evening, and I was looking for a place to represent my city to capture it in a picture, and there was growth in October or November, and by that time I was participating in a local photography contest, and I took a photo on a grotto of the Virgin of Guadalupe that is in the Autonomous University of Asunción, where I studied, and this photo, taken at the square of democracy, against Guarani hotel, which is one of the Historic Hotels of Assumption. In the end, the other won, proving that I had chosen well, and I think it's fair to drag into light, that the afternoon the sun had set and the first lights of the city were turning from the square to the National Pantheon of Heroes and Oratory of Our Lady of the Assumption. I made the decision, the weather was nice, as it is here in the summer, or at least when they are entering, and we usually have very hot days.
Silvio Pettirossi International Airport is 16 km from Asunción and is the largest airport in Paraguay. It is named after the famous Paraguayan aviator Silvio Pettirossi. We had to make a layover of 8 hours, spending the night, so we had time to see it. The airport is small compared to others, but provides all services. It has nice shops with local handicrafts in the public arrivals area and duty free stores. It has a bar where you can have a drink for a good price and good service, they accepted pesos and that was all we had, and obviously also they accept dollars. Everyone was very nice.
Found along the route of Jesuit missions in northern Argentina and Paraguay, declared a World Heritage Site in 1993, the ruins of Trinidad are the ones that are in better condition, being the largest. Built in 1706 it was a completely self-sufficient city; with a central square, large church, school, workshops and factories, a museum and several houses for Indians. Located in the vicinity of the border of Paraguay, thirty-eight kms from Incarnation, en route to Ciudad del Este, ir is a good option if you have time, after seeing Iguazu Falls. A better choice than the ruins in Argentina, both in price and beauty.
My town is called Garden of the Republic. For the nature that God gave us is wonderful. Its mountains, streams, and green vegetation looks like a true paradise. Everyone always tries to escape their own countries but there we appreciate what we have. Itacurubi of the Cordillera is a beautiful city that is 80 km from the tourist capital, the exuberance of its vegetation invites tourists to completely relax. In addition it is cheap and quiet.
I was in Hayes Vila with some friends. We were on a photo safari when, in the distance, I saw this man approaching on his bike and it was really cool. It was very strange to see how he was coming towards us. I stopped and took out my camera to capture a few frames of this feeling of remoteness, of hope, and of various emotions.
The Mother Church of Villeta is in the city centre, facing the Plaza de Armas and in front of the Municipality of Villeta. Built in an old Gothic style, it's warm and inviting, its patroness is Our Lady of the Rosary. The Eucharist and mass is celebrated in both Spanish and Guarani. Since Guarani is so difficult, you can also listen on a video. The Priests are of the Congregation of the Sacred Stigmata (Stigmatines), who are also known in Brazil, Paraguay and Chile. The pastor is currently Father Juan Diaz from Chile. This same congregation manages the Social and Cultural Centre of Father Gaspar, on the outskirts of Villeta. This Centre is better known as "the Boat" as its architecture resembles a boat.
Crystal Falls is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Ybycui city. It's extensive natural forests have wonderful fauna and flora, and crystal clear thermal water. It's definitely a place that you should discover, just 160 km from the capital Asuncion in Paraguay.
Late spring in Plaza Italia is a mythical place rooted in social struggles, since it's always occupied by either locals or farmers who come to demand the government give their problems greater attention. There were indigenous people sitting in the square the day I was there, but I didn't see them in that way because I was focused on the sky. It was cloudy that day, but the sun was about to break through, creating an atmosphere between light and dark. You can appreciate this effect in trees and the sky, standing in a coconut grove in in a spring evening.
