I don’t know if I can consider this a monument. I do think it’s one of the best works of the artist. It’s better to see the museum several times because with the quantity of works that Dalí did, one can become overwhelmed trying to take in everything at once. It’s best to do it little by little.
We found works ranging from the beginning to his last paintings, as well as ingenious inventions, jewelry, lithographs, etc. Everything has a purpose: to express him and entertain us. A delight to visit.
A unique place to discover new and unusual things, with lots of corners to get lost in. How many experiences have these walls shared, I'm sure they could tell some stories of the people they have seen.
If you like natural parks and especially birds, do not miss this place. Located in the region of high Empordà, the park offers various routes for on foot or by bike which are very easy to navigate. Even if you are only spending an hour or so here, you will find beautiful lake areas and freshwater wetlands with different observatories located at different points along the way so you can watch a variety of birds. Also at some point you will see how close you are to the storks. If you have more time, you should discover the different paths, beaches and the surrounding villages, all of which are wonderful.
As we have visited Palamos a number of times, we decided to also explore the area surrounding it. We took the car and went to Figueres, to visit the Dali Museum. It was worth the trip into town. The Dali Museum is a giant piece of artwork. Everything is beautiful. I would recommend to all!
It is well worth visiting this museum, which is not just for kids. It has several sections. I would recommend it to everyone, both young and old. The museum opened in 1982 and has over 4,000 items, including dolls and trains. As I said, it is divided into several parts: old games, the history of games and toys in Catalonia, a space dedicated to the various manufacturers and a media room. Do not miss it!
This is a very charming village. The main square has a cafe/theatre called "The Societat" with a huge balcony and there is also a lovely church with a steeple. The village is surrounded by beautiful mountains and, in one of them is "La Torre del Moro", an old tower monitoring area, which you can reach after a walk of about 20-25 minutes. Really great and beautiful.
They say that art connoisseurs all gravitate towards Figueres. The Dali museum is located in a square with three interesting monuments from which you can see the tower of the church of Sant Pere in Figueres. One of the monuments to which I refer has a marble plaque that says "Sense Encara Gala and Dalí would not be here" and has a bearded white sculpture. The other is placed on a white marble platform of two steps and surrounded by a gold-tipped black grille, dedicated to the painter, philosopher and writer Francesc Pujols. The third is a column of thirteen steps crowned by a female bust.
In order to travel at high speed from Barcelona to Paris you have to take an express train from Barcelona Sants to Figueres-Vilafant (with a stop in Girona) and then change to the French TGV. Vilafant AVE station in Figueres was opened a few weeks ago so take care because there is another, older station in Figueres which isn't the same. This one is new and is located on the outskirts of Figueres. The change from one train to another is done in a few minutes on the same platform and very easily. There are staff from both companies who speak in Spanish, Catalan and French. There is parking at the station (about 13 euros for 10 hours), but there is no bar or restaurant. There are a few vending machines. A bus connects the train station with Figueres and Figueres-Vilafant. The journey from here to Perpignan lasts 20 minutes and is ideal for a day visit.
The Acoustic Festival began in 2002. This is a festival with professional and amateur artists and lasts for five days. Last year, the number of spectators exceeded 20000. The festival features three sections in which the musicians are distributed with a very well organised agenda.
