The top 18 attractions in Santa Barbara

Historical Monuments in Santa Barbara
Old Mission Santa Barbara
(4)
After taking a walk by the sea, I could clearly see the Spanish influence in the city. First I visited the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, which has colonial parts to it. Then I went to this old Franciscan mission, that can be found on the outskirts of the city. Founded in 1786, can still hear Mass today, which is free. However, entrance to the offices is $ 5 (if memory serves me, the silver if I failed so as to see it from outside).

Santa Barbara Waterfront
(5)
While the beach in Santa Barbara is fabulous, the promenade, the beach is a blast, except the small problem that sometimes you have to share the road with bikes and skates. The palm green, yellow beach and blue sea, make this area a lovely place to stroll.
Streets in Santa Barbara
State Street
(4)
Located in the heart of the seaside city of Santa Barbara, State Street is the main street and one of the most enjoyable. It's a real pleasure to walk on this avenue and admire the Mediterranean white facades, red roofs and pretty little shops. Advertising here is almost prohibited, and shops signs may not exceed a certain size, which adds more to the charm of the area.
Historical Monuments in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara Old City Hall
(2)
Located on the beautiful Plaza de la Guerra, the old city hall is one of the oldest and most interesting buildings in the charming seaside town of Santa Barbara. We love the Mediterranean-inspired architecture and pretty flowerbeds. It's in a great location, too, a stone's throw from State Street, the town's main street.
Beaches in Santa Barbara
West Beach
(2)
Located on the west side of the beautiful, quiet town of Santa Cruz, south of San Francisco, the West Beach is one of the main surf spots in the city. Fans will enjoy the waves, and onlookers can stay at the foot of the nearby lighthouse and enjoy the view! The sunset here is particularly remarkable and shouldn't be missed.
Churches in Santa Barbara
Our Lady of Sorrows Church
In June 1925, Santa Barbara suffered a devastating earthquake, suffering damage to large number of buildings, entirely destroying this temple. The current church is Romanesque style and its reconstruction began in 1928 and in just 10 months the building was completed.
Beaches in Santa Barbara
Cabrillo Beach
(1)
The Cabrillo Beach is located in Santa Barbara, not far from the harbor and pier :) This is a pretty simple little beach, but very busy! In fact, when I went it was a little cold and it would soon be dark and yet there were still runners, people lying on their towels, or other people walking their dogs. I must say that the scenery is quite attractive and that it's a lovely way to finish the day. I was hoping to see Leonardo diCaprio, who lives in Santa Barbara, but it was not to be...

Located in a small recess which starts from State Street, Paseo Nuevo is a great mall with many U.S. and international shops including many boutiques. We also like its charming decor with fountains and waterfalls. A must for shopaholics!

De La Guerra Plaza
(1)
Located in a small street that runs perpendicular to the main street of Santa Barbara, State Street, the Plaza de la Guerra is a very nice square that we were pleased to discover during our visit to the city. We love the quiet, soothing area, and its Mediterranean-inspired town hall. Charming!

Santa Barbara, California, USA is also called the American blue coast. I flew in there from LAX, and I have to say I fell in love with this place immediately. Beaches full of young surfing and windsurfing. A lovely place to spend at least one day, and see its wonderful sunset from the dock, surrounded by seagulls and a wonderful climate.
Of Touristic Interest in Santa Barbara
Presidio State Historic Park
Surrounded by the modern buildings of downtown Santa Barbara, the Presidio is one of the last outposts built by the Spanish ve came to the region. Strolling through this 1782 complex is like taking a trip back in time, and to another country.
