After a tour of El Borge, a town along the Route of the Raisin in Axarquia, we stood together at this ancient church that has a peculiar mix of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Mudejar architectural elements. There is also a crypt, for burials of the village and around the region. The crypt was closed by the express order of Charles III in 1767. Its interior is still preserved in perfect condition, and, although normally closed, can be visited upon request.
