2 reviews of Archbishop's Palace - Diocesan Museum of Palermo

Religious art

Great

The Archbishop's Palace, located on one side of Cathedral Square, is home to the Diocesan Museum of Palermo. The palace was built by Archbishop Beccadelli Simone di Bologna in the fifteenth century, and later expanded. It is attached to the city's cathedral by an arch and a flamboyant Gothic tower. The museum exhibition consists of 15 rooms dedicated to objects of religious art, especially sculptures and paintings. There is also one particular room inside that is dedicated entirely to Santa Rosalia, the patron of Palermo.
