A stunning interior

Great

Restored and reopened to the public a few years ago, the interior of this building - for 3 euros - is worth visiting, so you can fully appreciate its splendour. Very impressive, the interior remains its Romanesque appearance, despite the later addition of two Baroque altars. Along the walls, there are two levels of galleries with mullioned windows that let the light in, alternating with areas of small dark arches. There's a beautiful baptismal font with a monolithic red marble base in the centre of the building. The baptistery was built in 1167, and has been restored several times over the centuries.
