Really delicious restaurant

The Xaloc Restaurant is not only located in Tarragona's traditional fishing neighborhood, El Serrallo, but the owner and chef actually used to be fisherman. This explains why the fish and seafood dishes are so delicious. I have to make a special mention of the flavorful red shrimp served with one of those sauces which you can't help but sop up with your bread. For dessert we had pineapple with crema catalana which was wonderful. The only downside was that we were so stuffed that we couldn't finish the entire dessert. The restaurant is two-stories with the lower one full of families and the upper one reserved for events.

Experts in seafood

The Xaloc is widely considered to be one of the best seafood restaurants in the city. Honestly, they're professionals in the art of seafood. It's no surprise that the owner was a fisherman for many years because he knows exactly how to prepare and serve his dishes. Oh, and the ingredients are always fresh and local. You can try jumbo prawns, red shrimp, langoustines, and tuna tartar, but the best dish is the Romescada, a dish of monkfish, potatoes, mussels, and romesco sauce. It’s exquisite! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Tarragona.

In the fishing village

This is a place where you're guaranteed top quality fish and shellfish. They serve up plate after plate of seafood that consistently defies expectations. You won't be able to stop eating: langoustines, tuna tartar, and local red shrimp that are the celebration of the Tarragona coast. If you're looking for fresh seafood, this is your place.
