Bridges in Istanbul
Galata Bridge
Although the bridge's architecture is nothing special, it's still a really charming place. It's a place you'll cross 1,000 times to see the ships sailing around the Golden Horn, the silhouette of the Galata Tower rising above the buildings of the Beyoğlu neighborhood, the profile of the New Mosque and the myriad minarets that rise up from the seven hills of Istanbul. The bridge, which connects the Beyoğlu and Eminönü districts, is always full of people coming and going, street vendors, seagulls, and lots of lots of local fishermen trying their luck. The smell of the sea rises from the water and intermingles with the smell of fried fish emanating from the Eminönü pier and the aroma of hookah smoke from the cafes under the bridge where men gather to spend hours playing backgammon.

Atatürk Bridge
Among the activities that can be practiced in Istanbul is a cruise on one of the many ships that roam the Golden Horn, the price is around 20 TL. It's a very pleasant experience and in good weather you can get some very nice photos. This photo is from one of those ships, summer of 2009.
