We were trekking for two weeks through Turkey. We set out from Cappadocia and the Taurus Mountains. It was a family trip with our two children aged 9 and 11. It was an amazing experience in a place with beautiful landscapes.
Yatan Adam is a mountain near Kas. Despite being only 500 meters tall, it seems that it challenges the town's residents and that it's continuously watching over them. It's well known, thanks to its shape, as resembling the silhouette of a reclining man. It's name, Yatan Adam, means "sleeping man" in Turkish. I recommend going up this mountain in Kas to be pleasantly surprised. Besides enjoying a fairly rich nature, with predominantly small trees and shrubs, you'll be able to enjoy unique places that are not well known. For example, you can see some beautiful caves where, although we didn't see them, different animals live. In addition, the views from this mountain, as well as on the island of Meis, are a privilege that make the climb worth it. But to top it off, there's unique fauna. As we climbed, we saw a beautiful tortoise. There are also remains of ancient civilizations that are mixed with nature. It's certainly a great opportunity for hiking, although you have to take into account the time when you go, because if it's summer, the heat can be devastating and will require a lot of water since shade is rare in the area.
