If you're claustrophobic, don't do it. But still, it's quite a cool experience! Derinkuyu is a city that was built as a refuge for a people during the time of the invasion. It has the capacity to hold thousands of people who could stay for months at a time just to confuse the enemy. It was perfectly calculated and supplied with everything the people needed to survive: water, food, and even animals. The city had 11 levels, the latter of which have not been excavated, and only 4 are open to the public.
Surreal rock formations spanning further than the eye can see. Not only are you able to wonder and appreciate the beauty and intricacies of nature, you'll be taken back by the culture and history of the area. Cave dwellings that date back centuries, religious murals that have survived eons, a unique way of life that'll all charm you.
