The most famous cemetery in Normandy is the American cemetery, but the Germans actually have their own as well. Located in La Cambe, the figures in this cemetery are shocking: more than 21,000 soldiers lie here (mostly in double graves). Some of them are in the central mound, and still remain unidentified. It is a very sober, very German style cemetery. It is quite the opposite of the American spot which clearly claims greatness. However, the German cemetery of La Cambe is silent, cold, and has very little people visiting. Here you can understand that weren't guilty of the crimes, but rather were mere "puppets" in the hands of those who believed themselves masters of destiny.
