A network of very characteristic medieval alleys invite visitors to spend a day visiting one of the region's special places, with one of the best Naif Art museums in the world with a prominent religious heritage. Take to the streets to discover every corner of the city. It is very rewarding to wander the paths and docks or sail in the Upper River, near the old laundry-boats, to get a different perspective. If you want to know the customs of the inhabitants, take a stroll through the traditional market on a Saturday morning. The farmers' stalls, poultry farmers and cheesemakers, with delicious and typical products of Pays de la Loire. It is a meeting place for odors and flavors!
The Old Castle of Laval is in the historic city center. This enormous granite and slate building stretches every sunrise on a rocky hill 50 meters high. All morning Laval gives us this beautiful picture. From the castle you can see a good amount of the town. The rounded shape on the battlements are your best introduction to visitors. This medieval building is in perfect condition and has been cared for. It may look like an old style castle, but it has been a fortress and royal residence of the lords of the area. You should see it, both for its exterior and its interior. Its facade mazonada crests accompanied with peaked roofs make, because of its size, one of the most impressive buildings in the area.
This is a wonderful tourist attraction. When we found it we had a wonderful insight that we recorded to memory for a lifetime. I advise everyone to visit it because it sure will not disappoint. And if you are lucky you will see this monument snow, as I show in the photo. Beautiful!
