During our trip to the Pyrenees last Christmas, we chose Campan as the center of our operations in France. They say it is one of the larger municipalities in the country, but it is by no means one of the most populous. It is located in the area of Hautes-Pyrenees and the Midi-Pyrenees region. Its main attraction is undoubtedly it's snow and high mountains. There isn't really much else to do in the area; the town is quiet, but there are many outdoor pursuits to get involved in, such as trekking skiing or just enjoying the scenery.
This lake is in the south of Tourmalet, close to the border with Spain. Surrounded by majestic mountains that seem to be shrouded in a constant fog, but one of the most spectacular places I have ever seen.
Sports in general are not my favorite thing. I'd never skied, and I knew I would not be very good. However, last Christmas I got the chance to practice some cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Our base was located in the south of France in the vast city of Campan. A few kilometers away you'll find the station of La Payolle. I do not remember the pass, and the rent for the racket was too expensive.
The area of France that we visited is very accustomed to ski tourism, so it won't be at all complicated for you to make a good team for hire. Just do not forget the chains. The experience of the rackets I did not like too much. Let's say my physical form leaves much to be desired and I always stayed behind. However, the French Pyrenees landscape was very beautiful, as well as relaxing. The landscapes of the region, including snow, mountains, lakes, and icy forest composed a beautiful picture.
