Airports in Zurich
Zürich Airport
(15)
Stupidly I thought perhaps that in the Zurich airport, everything would be clean, organized and perfect. The first time I went through it, we went to get a bus to the plane, and then I realized that all flights arrived were reached at with a bus. The 2nd time, we drove up on the bus, after waiting 15 minutes, and then getting on the plane were left in the bus another 30 minutes! We flew with Swiss Air. The waiting room was very small, with very few amenities, for example no plug to charge your computer, and people were charged an incredibly high price for internet ... I did not like the experience. I also had a pate in my backpack and it melted, and I was almost confiscated because it was "liquid". The airport is not far from the city, and there is a train to the city center, and also a city bus for transportation.

Cities in Zurich
Zurich
(19)
Walking through the streets of Zurich is a great feeling for tourists no matter what the weather is like. From the pedestrian-only old town surrounded by shops and alleyways to the financial district, it is fantastic. From the tranquility of the most remote places to the tram-causing messes. Regardless of where you are, and except at peak hours, wandering around Zurich is something relaxing to do. There are barely any noises or bad smells.
Lakes in Zurich
Lake Zurich
(16)
Lake Zurich is one of the most spectacular lakes in the city. If there is good weather, it is an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. On the stairs of one of the banks, the city dwellers tend to have lunch or enjoy a book. In the water, in the distance, you can always see sailboats and boats. An almost idyllic picture also represents the true spirit of the city.
Cathedrals in Zurich
Grossmunster
(9)
It can be accessed on foot or the tram stop Helmhauss. This church is composed of two Romanesque towers, which can be entered by paying 4 CHF (adults) and it's worth climbing the 187 steps for the panoramic view of Zurich and its surroundings, of course you'll be surprised. You can access it 10.00-16.30 and Sunday 12.30-16.30.
Train Stations in Zurich
Zurich Hauptbahnhof
(13)
Zurich has an excellent infrastructure of trains, although they are expensive, but worth it. It takes less than 12 minutes to reach the airport and less than 50 minutes to known destinations like Lucerne, Rapperswil. Inside the station is a large Christmas market where you can buy, eat and drink hot mulled wine.
Neighborhoods in Zurich
Lindenhof
(4)
A great place to see the city and get some rest. Formerly a strategic point, It´s located in a very high area which ensures a beautiful panoramic view. Romanesque houses surround the area. If you have time, you can play a game of chess.

Undoubtedly, the most famous street in the largest city of Switzerland. Full of luxury shops, fashion brands, expensive restaurants, spectacular hotels and a must for the tourist, but just go to watch. Churches in Zurich
Fraumünster Church
(8)
The church, is situated in the city of Zurich, and is known for its stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall (in 1970, when he was 83 years old) and Augusto Giacometti. The abbey was created in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard. Fraumünster church was built in the 13th century.
Churches in Zurich
St. Peter's Church
(12)
Its silhouette stands in the sky of Zurich, the clock can boast Peterskirsche, a watch of almost 9 feet in diameter. It does not seem that great from far away but if we go see how the needles are sized , it is spectacular. Its tower is the tallest in the city, and helped to control fires in the surrounding zone during the Middle Ages.
Squares in Zurich
Paradeplatz
(4)
Lower down the main street, this plaza is interesting for two reasons. Firstly, there are few places in the world that have as many trams per square meter and the second is that it is right next to the imposing church of Fraumünster. It is a perfect place to visit and is very close to the most expensive area of Zurich.

Churches in Zurich
Predigerkirche
(3)
Located in the historical center, north of the city, this church stands out for its white color and the tranquility around. Take a trip around, up and down for a great feeling, recommended for visitors. It has the same style as the other churches of the city and its architecture, like most things in Zurich, fits with the rest. No highlight in particular.
Shops in Zurich
Freitag Flagship Store
(2)
Did you think it would be impossible for someone to create a successful product based on recycled materials used in construction? Well, say hello to Freitag, a designer brand that is now displayed in places like the MOMA in New York and has achieved mass popularity. Their specialty are bags made with dirty and greasy truck tarpaulins. And, hey, the truth is that they are cool. They are very rare and, if they were not so expensive, I'd buy one. In Zurich, there is a shop filled with products of this hugely popular brand.
Museums in Zurich
Swiss National Museum
(4)
The Swiss Museum is close to the Main Railway Station (Hauptbahngof). During the winter, they mount an indoor an ice rink and there are various tents to eat in and have a drink at night. Check out their website for a visit.

Of Cultural Interest in Zurich
Schiffbau
One of the coolest sites out there in the special district of Zurich in the West is this Schiffbau, a place dedicated to culture and music. A site with a very select audience, a jazz club and even a restaurant. A spectacular site but not available to everyone. It's one of those things that remind me of this part of Zurich is as cool as Berlin. In those cities they have reinvented and taken advantage of places and made them very popular.
Festivals in Zurich
Street Parade
(3)
The Street Parade is the 2nd biggest technological festival in the world after the Love Parade. It usually takes place the 2nd Saturday in August every year. The festival runs along Lake Zurich where different caravans go by, each with music and a different show. The city is transformed into a type of club during the day where not only techno lovers enjoy the party. Around 8pm the caravan stop their route around the streets to allow the parties to get started. One of the best is the central railway station party. The main hall is transformed into a nightclub, open until the wee hours of the morning. In recent years there has been over half a million party goers.
Shopping Malls in Zurich
Puls 5
In the heart of West Zurich, is Puls 5, a spectacular shopping center. Come here and dream of having an office in a place like this; it's an immense, clear space, that before was an over and today houses cool things. There are designer shops, trends, some offices or restaurants that take advantage of this value to increase their own value. It's an incredible and well placed location.
Rivers in Zurich
Limmat River
(3)
The Limmat River divides Zurich into two parts. On one side is the more historical section and the other side makes up the financial core. Just past this, the river empties into the beautiful Zurichsee Lake. Its calm green waters invite you to relax and, on sunny days, its banks are filled with locals eager to feel those rays of sun that are more unusual around here than they would like.
