The Jardim Popular restaurant is located on Pereira Street, right behind the Cathedral, and belongs to the same owners of the Serra das Meadas complex. You actually don't notice it when you are walking down the street as it has an unassuming entrance of granite. Entering through an arc, you are surprised to find a large patio with tranquil gardens, picnic tables, a small pond, a playground and a barbeque. There is a wonderful new building made entirely glass in the courtyard which houses the dining room, so you have garden views from any of the tables. The menu didn't have an awful lot of choice: Some entrees, fish (bream and cod) and meat (some dishes made with pork, beef and lamb). The restaurant seems to speacilise in events, weddings and group meals, so I guess they develop custom menus.
The Solar of Espirito Santo also has a restaurant, bakery, and tea room in the center of the Portuguese town of Lamego. This city is important because it's known as being a center for pilgrimage and is one of the most renowned shrines in northern Portugal. The Shrine of [poi = 77111] Our Lady of the Remedies [/ poi] . The restaurant is one of the best ones for the price, and it's known for its regional cuisine with dishes such as roast kid, Portuguese stew, vellum and modish Rojões to home and desserts to choose from a variety of mousses and cakes of all kinds.
