Paul's Pasta Shop
The ultimate comfort food - fresh made, cheesy pasta. Oodles of pasta, rich sauces, and all the cheese make the perfect Italian dish. Paul’s Pasta in Groton makes fresh pasta and has incredible fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Paul's Pasta offers full and half portions of all of their pasta dishes, which is lucky as their portion sizes are gigantic. A full portion is more than enough for two to three full meals - perfect for if you like leftovers. Paul's Pasta is a local hot-spot that doesn't take reservations or call ahead, so be prepared to arrive early and wait for a table. The meals come with a generous basket full of warm garlic bread for the table to share.

Abbott's Lobster in the Rough
One of the most well-known and loved spots for fresh lobster, clams, crab, and other fresh seafood. Abbott's is located in the very small town of Noank, which is right on the Mystic River - just minutes away from the popular tourist destination of Mystic, Connecticut. Abbott's a casual restaurant where you wait in line to order, pick up your food when your number is called, and sit either indoors or outdoors on picnic benches to enjoy. Don't worry if you don't like seafood - Abbott's also serves hot dogs, hamburgers, and several salads. Note: Abbott's practices BYOB, bring your own bottle of alcohol.
