The Hotel Port Ciutadella was one of the few hotels open during my trip to Menorca in March.
Since it was the low season, the price was very good and it was very quiet.
The rooms are very comfy and each one has a terrace. From mine, you could see the sea and the beautiful sunsets.
There’s also an open-air swimming pool that’s quite agreeable, as well as a spa, gym, sauna, and massage services.
The Hotel Jeni is found in Es Mercadal, in the center of the island of Menorca. Es Mercadal is a settlement at the foot of Mt. Toro (the highest point in Menorca at 358m above sea level) and only 22km from Mahón and 24km from Ciutadella.
This fabulous hostel was renovated in 2006 and now has a heated pool, jacuzzi/sauna, terrace, meeting room, and 56 well-equipped rooms.
We went on medium-board and we could choose either a lunch or a dinner depending on what suited us best. The menu was stupendous, as was the breakfast buffet.
The treatment was great and the price-quality ratio was very good. It’s a magnificent option to stay in Menorca although the beach is 10km away. But, that being said, it’s Menorca after all, and you need a car to visit most interesting or beautiful places.
Just marvelous! A hotel on a central, but hidden street in Ciutadella, with 8 charming rooms.
It’s an experience for all the senses. It’d recommend it, especially if you’re looking to fall in love all over again.
My stay in this hotel was total calm; I woke up every morning to the sound of birds singing.
It’s located in a pine grove in Cala Santandria. From the pool area, you can take a trail which leads to the nearby cove.
The food is pretty good, but the hours are a bit weird. Dinner closes at 9pm, but the personnel are very nice.
There’s a bus station nearby where you can take a bus to the other coves, Ciudadela, or Mahón. We came back to the hotel by taxi from Ciudadela and it wasn’t at all expensive, only 6 or 7 euros.
This recently-renovated hotel makes you feel right at home and has some exceptional views looking out over the bay.
It has 11 spacious, well-lit rooms, almost all with an ocean view (a factor which naturally merits a slightly higher price).
The staff are friendly and looking to please the guests and they have nighttime activities for adults. In fact, when I went, I didn't see any children; most of the guests were couples from abroad.
The charming nearby port of Es Castell is easily reached by a short walk and is ideal to go out to eat or have a drink. There aren't any sandy beaches near here, but you can hop into your car and check out one of the nearby coves.
The hotel runs from May 2nd to October and is typically closed in the off-season.
This is a modern 4-star hotel oriented towards adults. The rooms offer magnificent views over the natural port of Mahón.
It has two pools which are interior and don’t have sea views, and a small spa area.
The outdoor dining area over the bay is wonderful for a dinner outside, but another recommendable option is to go to the small port in Es Castell which has some good restaurants and some lively cocktail bars.
This is a small hotel located in a pretty hotel in center of Mahón.
Although it’s billed as a “rural” hotel, that’s just the name. It was built in 1740 and the rooms are very large and cared for down to the last detail. Even King Alfonso XIII slept there!
The receptionist is very nice and lets you use the kitchen and library as if you were at home. The antiques spread throughout the hotel and the picturesque terrace are just a few of the other neat things about this unique hotel.
If you’re looking to rest and relax while listening to the birds, eat to your heart’s content, and enjoy a slow pace of life in the Menorcan countryside, then the Hotel Rural Biniarroca has what you’re looking for.
The atmosphere is exquisite and has a British touch, and the service staff is very friendly. Very recommendable.
If you want to be just steps away from Ciutadella but far away from the noise of the city, if you want to enjoy beautiful Menorca scenery from the deck chair of a magnificent swimming pool, if you dream about being near the coves of Es Talaier, Son Saura, Turqueta, Macarella, Macarelleta, and when the day is over, enjoy the silence of the countryside and an immense starry sky, this 16 room hotel is amazing.
It lies on the country road that passes through the pretty village of Sant Joan de Missa, the same road that gives access to the most beautiful bays of southern Ciutadella.
The old farmhouse has thick walls covered with bougainvillea blossoms, and typical Menorca furniture in the large terraces. The interior preserves all its rural flavour from the houses of “Pagés" adding to a supreme comfort: the Nou Morverdrá is worth its four stars.
This is a hostel with hotel-style rooms. It’s basic but charming and near the center of town so it’s easily reached by car.
It’s recommended for backpackers and young couples. If you’re in the market for a nice hostel, this is definitely your place.
Menorca is a fascinating island. It’s one of those places that you appreciate more every time you go.
It’s an ideal place to relax and spend a few days of sun, beach, and quiet. And what better way to do that than from fully-equipped apartments on the first line of the beach.
The Prima Sud Basic Menorca Apartments have everything you need. The managers are young and you can tell they’re very passionate about what they do. They’re innovative, offer great service, and are a welcome breath of fresh air.
All you need to do is chat with them and take a look at the facilities and you’ll see what I mean. The pool is marvelous and the beach bar they’ve built is even better.
It’s not easy to find that kind of service in beach apartments. You can have breakfast in the beach bar every morning (continental or English breakfast), have some cold beers at midday, or even try some of the delicious food at dinnertime. It was the best service I’ve received in quite a while and we left very happy.
It’s one of those places where you could spend the entire summer. It’s also very well-planned with families in mind: a couple, a group of friends, or a family with children will all have a great time here.
It’s a few minutes from the beach, is right across the street from a supermarket, and near the bus station so you can go to Mahón and check out the fantastic Punta Prima beach.
It’s more than recommendable. Plus, if you say that you’re there thanks to a recommendation from minube, I’m sure they’ll be happy to hear it!
Within this complex, you’ll find Hort Sant Patrici where they make small batches of handmade wine and cheese.
The cheese in Menorca is produced in small amounts, but you can still see the process, try some, and even take some home if you like. The same situation happens with the wine.
