Flemish Tapicerias

During my visit to the great Lamego Museum I photographed these Flemish tapestries which are the most important pieces of the core of these Portuguese museums (Flórido, 1974). They are magnificent examples made in Brussels the early sixteenth century. There are 6 and they were purchased 1525-1535 for the episcopal palace and represent: music, Leto Temple, Layo Delphic consultation, Oedipus at Thebes, Oedipus and Queen Jocasta. Also notable is the goldsmith, tiles, altars, paintings and sculptures - at last a very comprehensive museum that's worth visiting.
