Statue of Adam Smith

In Parliament Square, the plaza on the Royal Mile (in the direction of the castle) you'll find St. Giles' Cathedral. You'll also find a large bronze statue in memory of the philosopher and economist Adam Smith, who was the father of liberalism and author of the book "The Wealth of Nations" which is the basis of the modern discipline of economics. Behind the statue, next to the Cathedral, you will inevitably see some street performers. I saw a harpist and pipers.
