I went to this restaurant through a recommendation I found here on minube. The views are excellent, the mussels were really good, and the paella was excellent.
But the standout point for me was the service. The restaurant is a little ways off the beaten path but it’s worth it to go for the delicious rice dishes, the views, and the excellent service.
There is a very quiet and pleasant atmosphere. There is an evening menu for 15 euros which is really very good. The waiters attention is very good. We've been very comfortable here. At night the atmosphere is very romantic and at day the mahon harbor views are just wonderful.
The English arrived in Menorca (well, basically invaded it) and brought gin with them. Over time, the British left the island but the gin stayed and at Gin Xoriguer, it’s still made the traditional way. In fact, it’s the only distillery on the island and you can see the whole process of making gin in the copper tanks heated by wood fires.
The shop has a large variety of gins which you can try for free. I especially like the “pomade,” a mix of gin and lemonade.
We spent a few days touring around Menorca and every morning we passed by the Baixamar, where Joan and Rachel, who have taken over the business for a few months, prepared the tastiest and delicious sandwiches (pork with red peppers and garlic, pesto chicken with cheese , Iberian ham with tomato and oil) and ALSO gave us the best advice on what beaches to visit each day, each one more and more incredible. They also have a terrace that overlooks the harbor, where you can have from creative salads, delicious cheeses (the binigarba fabulous!), to toasts and more elaborate dishes. We loved the Baixamar, also because of its ancient interiors with carved stools and mirrors modernist (see photos) and the jazz music they chose, as well as for their friendly treatment. We are sure you they are going to have a lot of sucess. We will go back!
In the historic center of the city of Mahon in a pedestrian street, you will find this classic historic bar where you can have breakfast in its large terrace and which has the charm of a typical ancient village bars.
This restaurant is a very cozy restaurant that is located on the road of Mahon Fornells km 3, in Mahon. It is an old beautiful farmhouse typical of Menorca. When arriving, what surprises you the most is the terrace and its views, until the waitress comes and shows you the restaurant menu. It is a varied menu of fish, meat, etc.. of the day. The tapas are delicious and they have a very good price. The average bill per person is about 25 €. Here you have the phone number if you want to go, as it will be impossible for lunch / dinner without reservation, 650 974 685.
La Tropical Restaurant, in Mahon, is a great place to stop for either breakfast, lunch or dinner as it has an extensive menu (also the prices good enough to be from Menorca). If you want to, just come by La Tropical, it emphasizes service and care.
This restaurant and terrace has an excellent location near the marine and is a great place to have something to eat on the Mahón seawall.
You can, of course, find fish and shellfish on the menu, but there are also imaginative meat and pasta dishes.
You can also go to the second floor or eat out on the terrace. We chose the latter and had a great time out in the Mahón sunshine.
Located in the hamlet of Torret is the Restaurant Sa Pedrera d'es Pujol. It has neat and simple decor, the menu offers you a renewed vision of the cuisine of Menorca as it is based on island products and it has an extensive wine cellar. We recommend the lobster stew.
I have heard that the best restaurant in Menorca is in Sant Climent, near Mahon. So I went to try it ... It is expensive, about € 100 per couple with starter, main course, dessert and wine. But you're going to eat the freshest fish on the island, all dishes are carefully prepared and presented and there is a friendly atmosphere. I recommend the cod, tuna and apple pie. They say it is the finest paella but I didn't try it, also recommended is the rice with foie. Treatment by the service staff was excellent. In summer you have to book as it is always crowded! If you want to, pay a tribute this is the place.
