In the central street of Bath in the Suchiehall area of Glasgow is in this church, which though not too old (nineteenth century) carries out excellent social, educational and charitable works. It has school workshops, is a community center, dining room and temporary shelter for the poor. The building, simulating a neo-Gothic style (but much easier), is surrounded by more modern buildings, creating an interesting visual contrast, the modern face vs. the most traditional of the city. Basically, I wanted to show this corner as an example of people with little who help in an era where selfishness and materialism are often quoted.
The High Kirk is an amazing gothic church in Glasgow, Scotland. Very dark and macabre, entering this church will send you back in time, as it dates all the way back to 1336. It's not very big, and it's free to enter, and doesn't have very much tourist traffic. Next door you can see the cemetery, with ancient gothic tombstones set into the ground. It looks like a film set, and would be even spookier at night!
