The Assuan Dam's water is well tamed, and today the river is completely silent admist the earthy landscape and dazzling color. You can hear the murmur of the ships, full of tourists and a silent candlelight makes it seem like small town aquatic dance.
A lot of towns and temples have been submerged by the artificial lake that formed after the construcion of the new Aswan dam, built to prevent the Nile flooding. The Lake is named after the Egyptian president who ordered the dam to be built: Nasser. It is a huge expanse of water in the desert where, at dawn, you can take some great shots.
