London City Airport

London City Airport is a tiny airport with a single runway. It is right next to the City of London. Besides private jets, there are also direct flights to Paris, the rest of the country, Barcelona and major European capitals. These flights are not really any more expensive than arriving at Heathrow or Gatwick, and is much more convenient to reach central London, plus you save the cost of transport to the city centre. Heathrow is 30 km and Stanstead is 80 km so you save time too. The airport is fairly new, built in the 80s and the first flight took off in 1987. Today a million and a half passengers pass through London City each year, which is impressive considering its size.
