Post Office

Vila Real post office is on the corner of Praça Luís de Camões and Araujo Carvalho Avenue. It's a huge 4-storey building and one of the floors is half buried in the ground due to the slope of the street. It has a linear and orderly facade, the main feature are its many windows framed in granite, like the front door. In the corner of the square the building ends in a sturdy quadrangular tower that soars to a height. The other side, on the avenue, is annexed to the former Convent of Santo Domingo (whose church is now a Cathedral). It was designed by architect Raúl Espada Cruz and has requested classification
