1 review of The Sutton Hoo Burial Ship

Great importance

The discovery in 1939 of the remains of the ship burial at Sutton Hoo, a place located in Suffolk, UK, was an important chapter for of British art historians. In this boat were found several articles of great historical importance to the UK because of its age (about early seventh century), size and rarity. These can be seen today in room 41 of the British Museum. One of the most famous finds from Sutton Hoo was an iron helmet decorated with bronze panels also visible in the museum's recent reproduction of how it was in the past. Other weapons and artefacts from Sutton Hoo are also exhibited.
