This recreation area is in the vicinity of the Basilica of Santa Luzia, a few kilometres from the city centre, which can be reached by car or the Santa Luzia cable car. It is a natural environment where you can find a picnic area with tables with stone benches, and barbecues. It is very cherished by the people of Viana, who often go to spend the day. Next door is there is also a café-bar.
Crossing the suspension bridge over the river Támega, you'll find a large recreational area along the river, in which there is a vast green area that includes a lawn, rest areas, and several trails, both for walking and for cycling. I found it curious that the trails were painted different colors: The red ones are bike lanes, and the yellow ones are for pedestrians. There is also a children's play area with swings, slides, etc., and next to it a beach bar with loud music and a circuit where kids were practicing skate and bike-cross. It is a very nice place, and is often frequented by the inhabitants of the city, who were there taking a Sunday stroll through this nice park.
This recreation area is at the top of a hill, between the Portuguese town of CERVEIRA and Vilanova de Caminha. There are wooden tables and fountains, and an excellent view of the mouth of the river Miño. There is also a small exhibition consisting of a skeleton and several sheep with helmets, it's rather odd. In this area the popular Cross of Independence is just a few meters from the road.
This leisure and recreation area is is a beautiful natural landscape with small trees in bloom on the shores of the river Miño, with views of the Galician city of Tui. There's also a river beach and Yacht Club for nautical sporting competitions. Further up there are abundant tables of stone, a central monument with an image of the Virgin, a large playground and café and restaurant services. At the top of many stairs is the Shrine of Nossa Senhora da Cabeça where the day after Easter there is a pilgrimage in the Virgin's honor. If you go to Valença do not miss this beautiful natural setting on the banks of the river Miño.
This recreation area is next to the beach of Suave Mar. It has a playground, a beach library (only open in summer), a rest area with benches and lawns and a fitness circuit. There is ample parking for vehicles and you can also see a curious stone sculpture.
