Rilettes had its origin six centuries ago in the town of Indre-et-Loire. A product of the River Sarthe, this cream has now grown to what it is today, a typical product of the Pays de la Loire. The distinction between rillettes de Tours and rillettes Mans lies in the preparation. The Tours is much fattier. The most common rilettes are made of pork but rillettes of duck, rabbit or chicken are not uncommon. For fish lovers there are salmon and trout. A unique specialty that can be found in many markets and shops in the cities of the Pays de la Loire. Each has a mild flavor that stays on the palate for a while, making the food very enjoyable. They are perfect to accompany a good meal!

This is a restaurant that is charming and unique and in the heart of Le Mans. Pierre Les Paves is one of those places that may go unnoticed by the general public, but it certainly reflects the great reputation of the entire city. This small restaurant, whose interior in bright colors contrast with its exterior, makes incredible meals. It´s nothing to compare with the small plates of trendy restaurants. In Les Paves de Pierre a person can really eat! You can find good dishes served without shame! Among the specialties of the menu are the excellent entrecote steak with pepper sauce or port sauce and the filet of venison with cranberry sauce! I doubt you can finish the dish because the portion sizes are huge!

This little tea room is one of the loveliest places to be found in Le Mans. It is situated just a few meters away from the Cathedral of St Julian and it is a real treat to try some of the delicious cakes. These little pastries are carefully presented, and could well go unnoticed were it not for its simple decor and sweet aroma that fills the street inside Neufs Ponts. Enjoy the most typical local cuisine on the terrace in front while sipping coffee and enjoying every bite. If you want to know what Le Mans tastes like, you must go to Aux Bons Enfants.
De Le Mans is a little known restaurant but their food is some of the best that you can try in the entire city. Open only during the day, De la Cuisine au Grenier is a nice place to go and discover. As for the food, the dishes are original and "good, nice and cheap". Decorated with exotic furniture, the pictures that hang above the wall with a pink background call for your attention. If you want to eat well and not spend a lot of money, make a stop at De la Cuisine au Grenier. You will have a good time and even better food.

Re-discover the traditional French flavors at Le 79, a stylish and chic restaurant situated in the city of Le Mans. I promise you that you'll take away delicious memories. The interior wooden decor of this restaurant already gives the first hints of the quality with which the dishes are made. Among the specialties which I recommend, I prefer the grilled sea bass with white butter sauce and the meat cannelloni with mushroom risotto. If you choose either of these two courses, you won´t be disappointed. The menus are designed for all types of occasions. The best one is the JPH, with which you can share meals with someone else. The amount of food served is plentiful and the taste is quite original. It is a privilege to try these dishes!
