In Chulilla, there’s a very cool canyon with vertical walls and a grey-orange limestone very close to town that’s heavy frequented by rock climbers.
There’s a large quantity of totally equipped routes. The degrees go from IV to 8b, so there’s a plethora of options for rock climbers of all levels.
The environment is magnificent and the calmness you’ll find in and around the town is a true luxury. There a spa with thermal waters and several bath areas as well. I highly recommend the area to any, not just rock climbers.

The Picos de Europa mountains are the largest in the North of Spain, they occupy 3 Autonomous Communities: Asturias, Castilla y Leon and Cantabria, particularly in Cantabria the mountain range's have different locations for you to appreciate. On my last visit I saw Cantabrian Picos de Europa fully capped from a viewpoint as excellent as Playa del Rosal and Tostadero (in the municipality of San Vicente de la Barquera). It seems unimaginable that the Picos de Europa at almost 2,500 meters are only separated from the Bay of Biscay by less than 40 km, as happens in San Vicente de la Barquera and some other locations in Asturias. For me it is a luxury to bathe in the waters of the Bay of Biscay having such a spectacle such as the Picos de Europa in the background and even more so if they are snowy.
Test your fingers and your courage, overcome your fear, experience adrenaline and sweat and drink in the sea breeze... That is what the limestone wall, which overlooks the coast of Gandia, offers. This is a Mediterranean hiking paradise, where the English and Germans flock in order to get away from wet and cold... This is also the place where you can expect a hearty paella at the shores of our favorite warm sea ...
