Resort Towns in Portimão
Situated on the estuary of the River Arade, Ferragudo is a fishing village and its houses are traditional fishermen houses situated on the other side of Portimao and where the famous Castelo do Arade is. We walked along in the spring and saw some restaurants offering delicious fish, but as it was a bit early we decided to enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean and Portimao and meet the people. Then we turned around and went back to the town square, just a few meters away, called Pracca da Rainha Dona Leonor (plaza of the Queen D. Leonor) where we found cafes, restaurants and even a pizzeria we stopped to take a photo, ate outside on the terrace and it was a good price. Don´t forget the pretty beaches that are near Ferragudo and the Castilla de Arade.
Resort Towns in Vila Praia de Âncora
Ancora Valley
Vila Praia de Ancora is located next to both the sea and the river, 9 miles from Camiña and 13 km from Viana do Castelo, it is one of the most popular beaches north of Minoto that gives name to the village. Vila Praia de Ancora is a land full of religious monuments (churches, chapels) and the popular archaeological Barrosa Dolmen which is considered the largest megalithic Ancora Valley, and dates from the late third millennium BC. This spot, though, is also a fishing village as well as a place for people on holiday because it finds itself full of tourists during the summer months, due largely for its rich landscape, culture, and food. Merce is worth visiting the "Strong d Lagarteira" and a visit to Mount Calvary with beautiful panoramic views of the village and the Atlantic Ocean. Even though there are various places to eat, we recommend the Portobello restaurant. I find it to be the best in the area and it is run by a Brazilian family.
Resort Towns in Curia
Curia Thermal Village
It is a spa town in the heart of Portugal between Aveiro and Coimbra. The baths offer traditional comfort with contemporary technology to meet requirements throughout the year. There are many hotels in the area such as the great Curia Palace Hotel, a 4 star hotel I stayed in. There is also the Hotel Termas de Curia A 3 star with a garden, pool and a Lake. Another is the "Grande Hotel Curia" an ideal place for a relaxing weekend for events with family or friends and why not, a honeymoon to surprise your other half. They are close to each other and something that draws attention to the charm of the past were mansions or colonial type structures that indicate its clear Roman origin, hence the name Curia, a little-known spa town in Spanish areas. These hotels boasting health stays have a varied body treatment including massage, sauna, Turkish bath, Scottish shower, hot tubs, indoor and outdoor pools, etc.. And a few miles from the area, I'd say about 4 or 5 km is located Mealhada passing place full of restaurants and meeting place to savor the rich cuisine of the area such as the pig or pork and the famous sparkling wines ( cava Portuguese). And if that's not enough you can visit a half hour away, the ancient capital of Coimbra university with its gardens (Botanical Garden), shopping centers, restaurants, cafes, etc..
